Biography:

An Honors College graduate, Drew Lamonica Arms returned to the Honors College in 1999 after receiving her doctorate in Victorian literature from Oxford University, where she studied as a Rhodes Scholar.  In 2004, she was appointed as Director of Fellowship Advising and, in addition to teaching, currently assists students applying for prestigious national and international fellowships.  In 2007, she designed a course, HNRS 3010: Leadership and Scholarship, which introduces students to the analysis of classical foundations of leadership and provides practice in scholarship writing and interviewing ; this course is offered each spring.  Dr. Arms also enjoys teaching HNRS 1001/1003: Classical Civilization, as well as special topics courses in Victorian culture and literature.

Her book, "We are Three Sisters": Self and Family in the Writing of the Brontes was published by the University of Missouri Press in 2001.  Her work on Emily Bronte is also featured in the Gale Critical CompanionFeminism in Literature (2005).  Dr. Arms has written for The American Oxonian and the 30th Anniversary of Rhodes Women in Oxford.
