Classical Civilization in the Mediterranean World

In this course, we will read and study key texts that are foundational to European or Western Civilization, including Homer’s Iliad; Herodotus’ Histories; Lyric, Tragic, and Comic Poetry; Plato’s Apology of Socrates and Symposium; and Vergil’s Aeneid.
