Center for Academic Excellence

The Honors College second funding priority is the Center for Academic Excellence. Outstanding students want to study with faculty who are experienced researchers and superb teachers.  They want to be exposed to ideas and innovations that challenge them as well as prepare them for a rapidly changing world.  They want to do so in small class environments that produce intense and sustained intellectual engagement between students and faculty.  A new academic center for the Honors College will bring to LSU the finest teachers in the nation.  As visiting faculty, these individuals will expose students to the latest trends in scholarship, and encourage and enable LSU faculty to develop new and innovative course offerings.

By creating the Center for Academic Excellence, the Honors College will attract distinguished experts who will be invited to LSU to work intensively with honors students on cutting edge research and discovery that will benefit the entire  University community as well as the community beyond.
