FOCUS Summer Seminar
July 16 -27

The FOCUS Summer Seminar is a free program, designed and coordinated  by LSU Honors College students , it  provides selected ninth graders from under-resourced Baton Rouge  high schools  with a two week immersion program focusing on the arts and humanities. The program additionally gives high school students a first-hand look at college life. For summer 2007, students participating in the program  will arrive on Monday, July 16 and depart on Friday, July 27; they will have   Sunday, July 22 off to spend with family.

Honors College Orientation and Bengal Bound
Aug 23-26

During this time new LSU students will  move into their residence halls, learn about the four-year expectations of the Honors College, attend Academic Convocation, , discuss the summer reading book Breach of Faith with Honors College faculty members,  meet other students, participate in a cohesion/service event, and be welcomed to LSU by  Chancellor Sean O’Keefe. From the minute new students arrive,  they will be greeted and guided by a group of current Honors Students, who will help them make the transition to LSU and the Honors College. If you have been accepted into the Honors College for fall 2007, and you have completed your intent to enroll form on the Honors College web page, then you will receive more information about these events in the mail during June and August.
