This summer saw the publication of Go Set a Watchman, Harper Lee's follow-up to her Pulitzer Prize-winning 1960 novel To Kill a Mockingbird. Watchman has revealed Mockingbird's revered protagonist, Atticus Finch, to be a died-in-the-wool racist.

In this panel discuss, which is meant to compliment our panel discussion on the Confederate Flag earlier this fall, LSU faculty will discuss this "lost" novel and what its revelations reflect of race relations in contemporary American society. Panelist include:

Associate Professor of English Michael Bibler

Hill Memorial Library Head of Special Collections Jessica Lacher-Feldman

Department of English Post-Doctoral Fellow Matthew Dischinger

Panelists will take your questions and refreshments will be served.
