Leading up to and a little past Election Day 2012, the Honors House will screen four classic films that depict presidential politics in the United States. These movies are shown in conjunction with Honors 2020, "See How They Run: The Substance and Theater of the 2012 Presidential Campaign," which is taught by Professor Bob Mann.

This week's film, The Ides of March, is directed and co-written by George Clooney, who also stars in the film. The movie, based on Beau Willimon’s play Farragut North, depicts a presidential campaign set in Ohio. Ryan Gosling, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Evan Leigh Cook, Marisa Tomei, and Jeffery Wright co-star. The film offers a crash course on “dirty politics” as well as commentary on contemporary American morality.
