Honors Welcome
Thursday, August 20 at 10:00 AM in Bo Campbell Auditorium (located in the Gym Armory/Cox Communications Academic Center)
You will receive your LSU Honors College Student Handbook, learn more about the requirements and opportunities the Ogden Honors College offers, and have a chance to ask questions of current Honors students. All first-year Honors students must register for Honors Welcome.
Community Bound
Saturday, August 22 at 8:00 a.m. in the LSU Student Union Theater
As service is the theme for your first year in the Ogden Honors College, all incoming Honors students will participate in a day of service fixing up local public schools and other community sites. You will be re-directed to the Community Bound registration page after signing up for Honors Welcome below. Registration for Community Bound is required.
Honors Convocation
Wednesday, September 2 at 7:30 p.m. in the LSU Student Union Ballroom
To launch the academic year, LSU alumnus Michael Pitre, author of Fives and Twenty-Fives, will address the Ogden Honors College Class of 2019. You are expected to purchase and read Fives and Twenty-Fives before you arrive in August. The book follows the lives of Marines tasked with clearing potholes of explosive devices in Iraq. The book is intended to spark the type of vibrant conversations that are fundamental to the Honors experience at LSU.
If you plan to participate in Fraternity Recruitment, Sorority Recruitment, or Tiger Band, and/or if you are in a Residential College (e.g., Business, Engineering, Mass Communication, etc.), please be sure to check the appropriate selections on the Honors Welcome registration page.
