LSU's Theater Department presents Fifth of July, a play by Lanford Wilson about the struggles faced by an American soldier after he is wounded in the Vietnam War and returns to life in New Lebanon, Missouri. It premiered on Broadway in 1980 and was later produced as a made-for-television movie.
All Honors students are encouraged to attend this performance on Thursday, November 6. The issues raised Fifth of July relate directly to those explored in the 2014 Honors Shared Read, Thank You for Your Service by David Finkel. Students currently living in Laville can attend the November 6 performance for free, and should contact Amy Gardner in Laville 1225 or at 225-334-2410 for tickets or more information.
Students will meet at 7:00 PM in the Laville lobby to walk together to the performance. Following the performance, there will be a conversation with the director and cast of Fifth of July.
