Dr. Fred Cerise currently serves as LSU Vice President for Health Affairs and Medical Education. Dr Cerise received his B.S from the University of Notre Dame, an M.D. from the LSU Medical School in New Orleans, and an M.A in Public Health from Harvard University. He spent 13 years teaching medical students and treating uninsured patients at Earl K. Long Hospital in Baton Rouge. As Secretary of Heath and Human Services in the Blanco Administration, he helped developed a comprehensive healthcare reform plan.
