Honors College Recruiting Event Held at Iberia Bank
The LSU Honors College recently held a recruitment event in Lafayette hosted by Iberia Bank. High-achieving high school students from the Acadiana area had the opportunity to learn about Honors programs and talk to representatives from the college.
The students were welcomed by Keith Short, LSU alumnus and former President of the Iberia Bank Baton Rouge market who was recently named President of the Naples Region.
Other speakers included James R. Stoner, Jr. Ph.D., Acting Dean of the Honors College; Granger Babcock, Ph.D, Associate Dean; Andrea Bode, Enrollment Advisor in Undergraduate Admissions and Student Aid; and Jeremy Joiner, Academic Advisor.
“We’re always happy to go into the Lafayette area,” said Joiner. “It’s a market we’ve been developing for the past few years, so we’re always glad to see a warm reception from students in that area.”
After the presentations, students attended a reception, where they were able to talk to Honors faculty as well as Honors College Advocates, students whose goal is to promote the college and assist incoming freshmen with the transition to college life.
