Each year following the summer or fall term, some students graduate out of phase with the academic year.  Friday, December 18, 2009, four Honors College students attended the commencement ceremony: Jessica Brinson (Physics), Rachel Scott (Accounting), Carly Burt (International Studies), and Samia Rahman (Electrical Engineering).  To celebrate these students’ achievements, a luncheon was held where thesis directors Thomas Kutter (director to Jessica Brinson) and Jerry Trahan (director to Samia Rahman) also attended.

Jessica Brinson was a featured student in our Honors College Student Spotlight, and in addition to her Physics degree has also acquired a minor in Mathematics.  Carly Burt, as part of her International Studies degree, had a concentration in Global Diplomacy and graduated with minors in English and Spanish.  Samia Rahman explored the vast world of touchscreen technology as part of her senior thesis project, and Rachel Scott accepted a full time position with Postlethwaite & Netterville (a local accounting firm) as she works toward her Certified Public Accountant certification.

Jessica, Carly, and Samia all graduated with summa cum laude honors.
