Honors College Bids Farewell to Beloved Advisor
After four years of dedicated service, Upper Division Academic Advisor & Fellowships Coordinator Autumn Montgomery is leaving her position at the LSU Honors College.
During her time at the Honors College, the University of New Orleans graduate has worked closely with third and fourth year Honors students, helping them to navigate the Upper Division Honors Program and prepare their thesis research.
“Autumn’s one-on-one student advising skills are very good, and students respond to this in a positive way,” said Cindy Seghers, Experiential Learning Coordinator. Michael Blandino, Director of Student Services agreed, adding that "she appreciates each student's individual personality and their ambition and she connects by sharing her own."
Montgomery has also worked alongside Dr. Drew Lamonica Arms, Director of Fellowship Advising, to help students apply for prestigious national scholarships.
“Autumn’s service to the Office of Fellowship Advising has been invaluable,” said Dr. Arms. “Her attention to detail, wonderful ability to encourage our applicants, and persistent good humor have kept us going, ... [and] her good work has been crucial to our students’ remarkable success in these national scholarship competitions.”
Additionally, Montgomery conducted academic advising sessions, in which she encouraged students to make the most out of their four years at LSU.
"I greatly admire her rapport and commitment to the students; she was always willing to help out in any way that she could,” said Sherry Gauthier, External Relations Coordinator. “She was a great coworker, and I’m really going to miss her.”
