About the Program

Our campus is located at the heart of LSU's beautiful and abundant acreage, complete with residence halls that have multiple amenities and intimate-sized classes held next door in the French House, a Renaissance-style chateau.

At Honors College we offer a four-year curriculum and in-depth research opportunities that can lead to a senior honors thesis (and graduation with College Honors distinction).

Our faculty is a worldly group; some have taught far and wide (one in Italy with a vacationing Supreme Court Justice), several are Ivy League educated, and many have received prestigious research awards and fellowships from the National Endowment for the Humanities, Fulbright-Hays, and The American Bar Foundation, among others. Most importantly, our faculty care deeply about Honors students whom they get to know well in seminars and at Honors events.

We're a small, tight-knit group that some say feels like family. And in addition to studying, Honors students are widely involved in volunteer work with the local community and in activities on campus. Some hold key positions in student government, join fraternities or sororities, play intramural sports, attend concerts, lectures, gallery openings, crawfish boils and tailgating parties (like you've never seen in your life).

Stop by some time to hear what Honors students have to say. We're confident you'll want to join them.
