Biography:

Joining our staff in 2016, Andrew Abad serves as the primary Recruiter for the Ogden Honors College at LSU. From visiting high schools to hosting prospective students on campus, Andrew’s job is to identify, recruit, and bring in the next class of Ogden Honors students into the College each year.

As a native Michigander, Andrew was born and raised in the Metro Detroit area until moving to Louisiana in 2014 to attend LSU as a graduate student. Prior to attending LSU, Andrew graduated with highest honors from Eastern Michigan University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and Communication. His senior thesis project concerned the intersections of political comedy programming and how individuals consumed and learned about political news. As a graduate student in the Manship School of Mass Communication, Andrew graduated in 2016 with a Master of Mass Communication (M.M.C.) degree with concentration in Political Communication. Andrew’s Master’s thesis project explored intermedia agenda setting capabilities of the popular HBO television program, Last Week Tonight with John Oliver.

As both an Honors College graduate and LSU alumnus, Andrew is passionate about sharing the opportunities that await prospective students both in the Ogden Honors College and as a student at our flagship state university.
