This course is designed to deepen understanding of the complexity of the intersections of rhetoric, religion, and race. We will explore the religious foundations of racial categories in America and the role of these ideas in sustaining hierarchies of being. Ultimately this class will invite critical thought regarding how race and religion function in America.
