February's First Tuesday concert will feature visiting Taiwanese pianist Chao-I Chou, performing:

As a soloist and chamber musician, Ms. Chou has performed extensively in the United States and Asia; sites include Interlochen Arts Academy, University of Michigan, Penn State University, Eastman School of Music, Cornell University, Rutgers University, Louisiana State University, Bowdoin Summer Festival, National Concert Hall in Taipei, Taiwan, Izuminomori Hall, Osaka, Japan, Auditorium Komtar, Pulau Pinang, Shanghai Conservatory of Music, Shenyang Conservatory of Music, Berlin University of the Arts and the Copenhagen Opera House.

In May 2004, she completed her Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Piano Performance and Literature at the Eastman School of Music, where she also received her Master and Bachelor degrees. Her teachers include Fernando Laires, Douglas Humpherys, Alan Feinberg, Elizabeth DiFelice, Benjamin B. M. Yu, Malcolm Bilson and Yoheved Kaplinsky. Since 2006, Chao-I has been the assistant professor of the Shih-Chien University, Kaohsiung Campus in Taiwan. Her first recording with Yung-chiao Wei (the famous Chinese Violin Concerto "Butterfly Lovers” and Brahms Cello Sonata in E minor) is released on Centaur Records.
