The Rake’s Progress, an opera in three acts, is based on the eight paintings by William Hogarth that Stravinsky saw on 2 May 1947 in a Chicago exhibition. The opera depicts the decline and fall of Tom Rakewell, who deserts Anne Trulove for the delights of London in the company of Nick Shadow, the Devil. Due to the Shadow’s misadventures, Tom ends up in London’s Bedlam, a hospital for the ‘insane’. The moral: “For idle hearts, hands and minds the Devil finds work to do.”

OH!Pass is a partnership of the Ogden Honors College and the College of Music and Dramatic Arts, established to provide enrichment through free attendance for Ogden students to outstanding music and theatre events throughout the academic year.

For this performance, one guest ticket will be allowed.  Registrants may enter '2' in the party total field below to request a guest ticket. Limit one guest.

OH!Pass tickets may be picked up at the French House two business days leading up to the event.
