Who is the better hero, Achilles or Aeneas, and why should we care? Why did Medea kill her children? Why did Socrates drink hemlock? Is there an art of love, and if so, can it help us? How did gladiators and charioteers fit into Roman society? Who is at the bottom of Dante’s Inferno, and how did he get there? What did medieval monks do in their monasteries? Who fought the Crusades, and why? Just how deadly was the 14th century plague? Learn the answers to these questions and more!
