The NASA Kepler Mission provided four years of ultra-precise light curves for over 150,000 stars, hoping to detect signs of transitioning planets. In Kepler's field of view was KIC 8462852, a star, which citizen scientists identified as having unusual, random patterns in its light curve data. Professor Boyajian will discuss the discovery, recent developments, and future work planned to study KIC 8462852.
