As part of Honors 2000, the Honors College faculty is screening four films about the First World War. Joyeux Noel, the second installment of the series, is a 2005 French film about the Christmas Truce of December 1914, which is depicted through the eyes of French, Scottish and German soldiers. Joyeux Noel was nominated was nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at the 78th Academy Awards in 2006; it features performances by Diane Kruger (Inglourious Basterds, National Treasure) and Gary Lewis (Gangs of New York).
