About Honors

Honors College Sign

Our "campus within a campus" is located at the heart of LSU, complete with residence halls, the French House (a 1930's Renaissance style chateau) and a live oak filled outdoor common area.  As one of the few residential colleges on campus, we are the only one to have a completely dedicated classroom building and residence hall to foster continual learning in and out of the classroom.

At the Honors College we offer a four-year curriculum focusing on community service, study abroad, undergraduate research and a senior thesis project all  leading to graduating with College Honors.  Our hallmark is our small seminar style classes that foster discussion and debate among our students and faculty.

Honors College Award CeremonyHonors College students come from a wide array of backgrounds but all mirror students enrolled in the top 10 public universities in the country.  Honors College students have not only spoken before the General Assembly of the United Nations and been named as USA Today's Top 20 college students, but they win such prestigious national awards as Rhodes, Truman and Goldwater Scholarships .  Many of our graduates go on to the Nation's best graduate programs including, Harvard Medical School, Johns Hopkins and Washington University.

Our program challenges high-achieving students to stretch themselves, to confront and to explore.  Our educational focus is on individual interdisciplinary education, requiring our students to learn from multiple points of view.  We are committed to ensuring that our students become the well-rounded individuals who will lead us into the future.

Stop by some time to hear what Honors students have to say. We're confident you'll want to join them.
