The Honors experience
In Our Neighborhood Excellence, Community, and Leadership Matter
At the LSU Honors College, we say "EXCEL." We also say, "Serve your community," "Study abroad," "Do research," "Get an internship," "Write a thesis, " and "LEAD."
What makes all this possible? YOU, an outstanding student who wants a challenge and who wants to develop your talents to the fullest, and US, the LSU Honors College, with our unique staff and facilities and our dynamic living-learning environment.
We have staff members who specialize in internships, career planning, community service, academic advising, study abroad, undergraduate research, and prestigious scholarships and fellowships, like the Rhodes, Truman, Goldwater, and Marshall.
We have faculty who are accessible and who are committed to small-classes, discussion, and writing, and who act as mentors and guides.
We have facilities--the French House, the Laville Residential Hall, and the 459 Dining Hall--that make us a small neighborhood on the LSU campus, and within walking distance of all classroom buildings as well as the Union and the University Recreation Center.
Our dynamic learning community combines the three elements of a successful college experience--academic, residential, social--with connected faculty and staff and the opportunity for students to learn, lead, and excel.
