Mount Vernon Leadership Fellows

A five-and-a-half week summer leadership program that offers a small, select group of rising college juniors unparalleled opportunities in the nation’s capital and on the famous estate of America’s first president.

Purpose

Fellows will engage in dynamic leadership education curriculum, interact with nationally recognized corporate, government, and military leaders in the nation’s capital; and discover how to change the world through self-reflection, exciting experiential activities, and a community service-focused capstone project. 

Selection Criteria

Emphasis is placed on developing the potential of leaders who are enterprising, culturally minded, academically curious, unique, philanthropic, and socially conscious. 

Eligibility

  • Currently enrolled rising college junior (current sophomore) in good standing 
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and interest
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.4 or higher
  • Current U.S. Citizen

Stipend

The program is fully funded, and includes a $600 weekly stipend plus all room, board, and transportation expenses.

Duration

June 8 - July 15, 2015, in Washington, D.C.
