Fulbright UK Summer Institutes

Provides funding for undergraduate students to spend their summer studying at an Institute in the UK

Purpose

The UK Summer Institute seeks high-achieving and involved students who demonstrate leadership abilities, community service, and/or engagement in extracurricular activities. Students will select an Institute and program within the UK and pursue three to four weeks of study in a field of their choice, while allowing them the opportunity to explore a new culture. During their time in the UK, students will not only network with professionals in their field of study, but they will also have exposure to historical contexts and social opportunities. 

Selection Criteria

Students will be selected based on their academic achievement and their demonstration of leadership and engagement within their community. The program seeks students who want to learn about a new culture and who are willing to give back following participation in their program. 

Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • Be a U.S. citizen
  • Be 18 years old by the start of the program
  • Have at least 2 years of undergraduate studies remaining after the program 
  • Have a minimum GPA of 3.7

Stipend

Costs covered include:

  • Tuition and fees at the host institution
  • Housing and Meals
  • US-UK Airfare

Duration

The UK Summer Fulbright program will support students for three to four weeks, depending on the Institute and program they choose. Students who engage in this program are expected to return to the US following their studying abroad to complete their undergraduate degree and should have at a minimum 2 years left of coursework.
